Ace Jiu-Jitsu Instructors

Asa Fuller, Chris Thue, and Tim Cartmell have a combined total of over 50 years of martial arts training and teaching experience. Each instructor has studied various martial arts, and all three have Black Belt status in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, as well as competitive victories in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Championships, Pan American Championships, the Copa Pacifica, and Grappler’s Quest. Together, they bring competitive experience and coaching skills that are guaranteed to improve the student’s level of skill in the shortest possible time.

ACE Jiu-Jitsu’s Muay Thai Instructor, MMA fighter Fernando Bettega, holds black belts in both Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Asa Fuller

Asa Fuller is a world champion Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighter and one of the head instructors at ACE Jiu Jitsu. Asa has been studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for over a decade. He received his black belt from Cleber Luciano in 2007. Asa has medaled in countless competitions around the world, is a five time Pan American Champion, World champion,  and last September he was 1 of 16 fighters from his weight class in the world selected to travel to Spain and fight in the ADCC Championships. Asa is still an active athlete and continues to compete in most of the major Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. He is also a dedicated husband and father of three sons and loves coaching them in all of their sports.

Chris Thue

Chris Thue is one of our head black belt instructors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Chris has been studying jiu-jitsu for over twelve years. He received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2007 from Cleber Luciano. Chris has medaled in many competitions including a 6 time Copa Pacifica champion, Pan American champion, second place in the World’s, and many more. Chris continues to improve his game and teaching strategies through weekly private training sessions with Leo Viera’s black belt Lucas Leite.

Tim Cartmell

Tim Cartmell began his martial arts training with the Chinese styles, including ten years of study in China. Tim is an Asian Full-Contact fighting champion, two time winner of the IFBJJ Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championships, and seven time winner of the Copa Pacifica Jiu Jitsu Tournament. Tim is a second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, holds black belts in several other styles, and is a lineage holder in the Chinese Internal Systems of martial art. Tim is the author of “Effortless Combat Throws” and co-author of “Passing The Guard”, “Traditional Sun Style Taijiquan”, and “Xing Yi Nei Gong: Xing Yi Health Maintenance and Strength Development” translator of Practical Chin Na. He is also featured in Nei Jia Quan: Internal Martial Arts Teachers of Tai Ji Quan, Xing Yi Quan and Ba Gua Zhang.
